Dancing Moominvalley @ Shanghai EXPO -theatrical production, presented in Shanghai World Expo in August 2010, gets a World Expo cultural award. The award was assigned by the Executive Commitee of World Exposition 2010 Shanghai China.
The award was distributed on Wednesday February 16th, 2011 in Tampere by Shanghai World Expo's Finnish pavillion's high commissioner Pertti Huitu, who also acted as the vice-chairman for the whole Expo organizing committee. In addition to the realizers of the work of art, the mayor of the city of Tampere, Timo P. Nieminen, was also present at the prize award ceremony.
Dancing Moominvalley @ Shanghai EXPO -production was the only work of art from Finland, which was awarded a cultural award. The Shanghai Expo organization has awarded only one prize per pavillion, although not all the pavillions have received one.
Dancing Moominvalley @ Shanghai EXPO and the city of Tampere acted as the cultural ambassadors of Finland and Tampere in the World Expo.
